MIAMI GARDENS, FL – The St. Thomas University women's tennis team lost its season open to Lynn University who is ranked #4 in the NCAA DII poll. The tandem of Manuela Gil and Grier Clark played well at #1 doubles despite the 8-4 loss. The Bobcats were short-handed causing them to default at #3 doubles and #6 singles.
Manuela Gil played tough at #1 singles before falling short by a score of 6-2, 6-2. Adrianna Montilla played tough at #5 singles losing by a score of 6-2, 6-1. The rest of the singles spots the Bobcats had a tough time. Natalia Ramirez and Grier Clark played an 8-game pro-set because Lynn University had already clinched the match winning 5th point.
The women Bobcats will be traveling to Orlando, FL tomorrow to play Savannah College of Art and Design who is currently ranked #7 in the NAIA poll. The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back against this conference foe.
