MIAMI GARDENS, FL – The St. Thomas University Bobcats drop 3 matches this week. The first two matches of the week were against NCAA DI schools in the University of Pittsburg and Temple University. The lady Bobcats dropped both of those matches by a score of 9-0. The Bobcats then played Florida Tech University and dropped that match by a score of 8-1.

On Monday, the Bobcats played the University of Pittsburg. The women were outmatched by the Panthers at every spot, but both of Bridget Castillo's matches were close. In the doubles, Castillo and Ramirez dropped a tight match by one break, 8-6. Then in the singles Castillo played well before falling by a score of 6-4, 6-3.

The Bobcats then took on the Temple Owls on Wednesday. The Bobcats struggled to get games throughout the lineup as the Owls were just too much. Manuela Gil was the only Bobcat to tally games in the singles play.

The Bobcats then took the court on Friday against Florida Tech University. The Bobcats struggled in the doubles play getting only 4 games in the 3 matches, but the singles play would differ. The top two singles slots went to a 3rd set tie-breaker with Manuela Gil losing 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 and Natalia Ramirez lost 6-4, 1-6, 10-7. Adriana Montilla won her match at #6 singles by a score of 8-4.

The Bobcats are back in action on Tuesday (March 17) against Hamilton College. The match will be held at home and is scheduled for a 2:00 pm start.
