MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Men’s Tennis team had a great outing against Eckerd College Saturday, sweeping the group matches, and finishing the match with four wins in singles action to get the 7-2 win.
Adrian Escarate and Esteban Mesa took the first point of the afternoon in a close group pairing that went into extra sets, but the Bobcats held on for the 9-7 win.
Jeremy Bache and Gonzalo Gayoso won the second match 8-5 and Frederico Acevedo and Andrew Rifkin closed out the final group match 9-7.
In singles play, the second half of the roster stepped up to grab the final points needed for the win. Escarate won, 6-3 6-4. Gayoso and Rifkin dropped the next two but Bache, Acevedo, Mesa, and Vazquez all grabbed points without going into a third set.
The Bobcats move to 4-2 on the season and will go to SCAD on February 28.
