Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – St. Thomas, ranked 19th in the nation in NAIA DII, defeated no. 6 Hastings (Neb.) 83-74 on Saturday night in the STU Classic at the Fernandez Family Center. The Bobcats (8-3) were led by senior point guard Kevin Hincapie who scored 20 points to go along with six assists. Senior center Demonte' Simpson scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds.

Four STU players in all scored in double figures with senior guards Floyd Battle (15) and Demetris Allen (12) joining Hincapie and Simpson. On the glass, junior Lorel Beckford led the home team with 10 rebounds as the Bobcats out-rebounded the Broncos 39-33, including a 14-10 advantage on the offensive end.

The Bobcats return to action on Sunday with the final game of the STU Classic when they take on Queens (Canada) at 4 p.m. at the Fernandez Family Center.
