The mission of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity for all student-athletes; protecting student-athlete welfare; and fostering a positive student-athlete image.
Purpose:
- 1. To provide a forum for student-athletes to present specific concerns and to take an active role in the formulation of policies within the department.
2. To promote efficient communication between varsity student-athletes and the athletic administration.
3. To actively encourage more involvement of the student-athlete in campus and community projects.
4. To build a sense of community within the athletics department and all athletic teams.
Membership:
The committee will be composed of two student-athletes from each varsity team. Each team must also have an alternate selected to attend meetings if their representatives cannot attend the meeting. Each team has one vote before the committee.
Committee members are appointed by their respective head coach based on team member's recommendations. Each representative shall serve a one-year term and may be re-elected. Team representatives will be selected in the spring semester for the upcoming year. Any varsity student-athlete is eligible for appointment.
