MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - St. Thomas (2-2) takes down Florida National (3-3) in a battle at The Fernandez Family Center in Miami Gardens, Fla. The game was close in the first half as the Bobcats on lead by three heading into the second. But, STU was able to pull away in the second half from
David Santiago helped lead the Bobcats to victory over Florida National at a score of 94-79.Â
Santiago's 28 points was a huge factor for the STU victory and was also followed by three other Bobcats scoring in double digits.
James Vice with 15,
Michael Walker with 11 and
Lorel Beckford with 10 helped secure the St. Thomas victory. Beckford also led the team in rebounds by posting 9 boards on the night.
Mikon Hewitt also played a major role for the Bobcats as he generated a game high eight assists for the game. The Bobcats were over 50 percent for field goals, three and free throws for the game. The bench was a huge help for STU as the total bench was able to score 49 total points on the night.Â
The Bobcats will head to Brunswick, GA this Friday November 14 to play against College of Coastal Georgia for their next game.Â
