Coppock-Bey recorded a career-high for the second straight game

BOBCATS RUN AWAY IN SECOND HALF OVER WARRIORS

BABSON PARK, Fla. - St. Thomas dominated play in the second half and went over the century mark for the second time this season in a 104-86 win over host Webber International on Thursday night in Babson Park. With the win, the Bobcats remained in first place in The Sun Conference with an 11-2 conference record and improved their overall record to 18-5.

Senior Khaalis Coppock-Bey scored a career-high 31 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field, 9-of-10 from the line and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Coppock-Bey also recorded eight rebounds, six assists and two steals in his 34 minutes of play. For Coppock-Bey, the scoring performance marked his second straight career-high game having scored 20 points in a win earlier this week vs. Florida Memorial.

Six Bobcats scored in double figures in all with James Vice (15 points) and Davorn Bryant (13 points) joining Coppock-Bey. Chuckie Becton, Demetris Allen, Demonte' Simpson each scored 11 points. Simpson also led all players with 10 rebounds giving him a team-best fifth double-double of the season.

The game was tied 40-40 at halftime before the Bobcats went on a scoring tear taking over the game on WIU's home court. A layup by Allen off a Vice assist capped a 16-5 run coming out of intermission. The Bobcats stretched their lead to as many as 20 points over the next seven minutes and the lead ballooned to 25 points with 4:54 to play after a 10-0 run. The Bobcats coasted from there to sweep the season series vs. the Warriors.

The second half offensive numbers were staggering as the Bobcats outscored the Warriors 64-46. STU shot 69% in the second half on 18-of-26 shooting, while holding the Warriors to 38% shooting. The Bobcats hit 27 of their 39 free throw attempts in the half and out-rebounded their hosts 27-18. Individually, Coppock-Bey scored 20 of his 31 points in the second stanza on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. Bryant scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half.

St. Thomas returns to action with another Sun Conference road game in central Florida, traveling to Warner for a Saturday tilt in Lake Wales.
