BIG NIGHTS FROM BECTON AND SANTIAGO NOT ENOUGH ON THE ROAD

BABSON PARK, Fla. - Despite 21 points by Chuckie Becton and 18 by David Santiago, St. Thomas (9-8, 4-4 TSC) fell to host Webber International (8-12, 5-3 TSC) 80-73 Thursday night in Babson Park.

Becton pulled down eight rebounds to go along with his team-high point total.  Lorel Beckford recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Warriors outshot the Bobcats 50% to 38% from the field.  STU struggled from beyond the arc shooting just 3-of-16 and missing on five three-pointer attempts in the second half.

The Bobcats won the rebounding battle 49-28, including a 17-6 advantage on the offensive glass.

Webber's bench had a huge night, outscoring the St. Thomas reserves 32-4.

St. Thomas returns to action with another Sun Conference road game on Saturday at Warner in Lake Wales, Fla.
