BOBCATS COME UP CLUTCH IN FINAL MINUTES TO DEFEAT NORTHWOOD

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Tim Sada hit four free throws in the final ten seconds and James Vice came up with a steal at the end of regulation as St. Thomas (15-9, 10-5 The Sun Conference) defeated host Northwood (14-11, 6-8 TSC) 67-64 on Thursday night. It marked the sixth straight win for the Bobcats who gained sole possession of second place in the conference.

Sada finished with 14 points, hitting all six of his free throw attempts and two three pointers.  Michael Walker led STU with 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including two three-pointers.  Mikon Hewitt was second in scoring with 16 points, shooting 4-of-7 from the field and 8-of-11 from the charity stripe.

Northwood out shot STU from the field 49% to 44%, however the Bobcats went to the line 13 more times than the Seahawks, converting 17-of-25 attempts.  The Bobcats also won the turnover battle with NU committing 19 turnovers to just 11 by STU.

The Bobcats recorded 12 steals as a team, led by Vice who had four.  Walker and Maxwell Webster each had three steals.

St. Thomas returns to action with a road game at Sun Conference leading Embry-Riddle on Saturday night in West Palm Beach.
