MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – On Senior Night, host St. Thomas (16-10, 11-6 TSC) fell to Webber International (11-18, 8-9 TSC) 80-77 on Saturday evening at the Fernandez Center. Despite the loss, the Bobcats clinched the second seed in The Sun Conference Tournament which begins Thursday.

Lorel Beckford led the Bobcats with a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds with nine of his 16 boards coming on the offensive end. Â Fellow senior
Chuckie Becton scored 11 points, pulled down seven rebounds, and registered three steals and three assists.Â
Michael Walker (16 points) and
Mikon Hewitt (14 points) also scored in double figures for the Bobcats.

Webber shot very well from the field (58%), including 9-of-19 from beyond the arc. The Warriors were led by Brian Pace scored 29 points and made seven three-pointers.

St. Thomas had the ball with less than seven seconds to play and a chance to send the game into overtime, but a three-point attempt by Hewitt missed the mark

The Bobcats will host the seventh seed, still yet to be determined, in a quarterfinals game 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Fernandez Family Center.
