MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- St. Thomas (9-4) dropped its second match of the STU Classic to the visiting West Virginia Tech (9-5) by a final score of 80-83.
The Bobcats and the Golden Bears brought a competitive fight to the match as the first half ended in favor of the Bobcats 42-38. A four-point lead proved to be just enough to get the home team to the locker room with a slight cushion but WVUT ensured that they wouldn't go down without a fight.
The second half had West Virginia Tech dominate as they went from a mere 42.9% shooting in the first half to 75% in the second. This ultimately boosted the visitors past the Bobcats as they took the second half 45-38.
Although St. Thomas lost, four players scored in double figures and as a team earned 10 steals on the night.
Notable numbers on the night came from
Mikhail Rolle (18 points, one block and three steals) and
