BOBCATS DROP FIRST TSC GAME AS BOWMAN AND SAUNDERS HAVE CAREER NIGHTS

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA.-St. Thomas (5-3, 3-1 TSC) dropped its first TSC match of the season to rivals Keiser (6-2, 4-1 TSC) by a final score of 71-82 late Thursday night.

The first half brought a close match as STU went to the locker room with a one-point lead, 34-33. In this half, Philip Saunders recorded only one of his game-high six three pointers. The big man in the middle, Raheem Bowman, recorded a double-double. This marked the second time this season in which Bowman has recorded a double-double in the first half of a game with 12 boards and 10 points.

The second half had KU jump out in front and never look back. Saunders brought down the house for the Bobcats as he recorded 17 points in the second half, with five three pointers made. The performance from STU proved to fall just short as Keiser opened up its lead to a final 12-point gap, 71-82 score line.

Notable numbers on the night came from Saunders, who scored a career-high 22 points as well as a career-high six made baskets from beyond the arc. Bowman closed out the night with a career-high in rebounds as he pulled away with 22 boards. Fotios Malelis scored 10 points which went along perfectly with his nine rebounds.

Next up for the Bobcats is a weekend home conference matchup against Johnson & Wales on Saturday, December 9 at 4 p.m. at the Fernandez Family Center.
