JUNIOR SADA STEALS SHOW ON SENIOR NIGHT

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.  – Tim Sada scored a career-high 26 points and tied a school record with eight made three-pointers to lead host St. Thomas (20-8, 11-5 TSC) to a 93-70 win over Keiser (21-8, 8-7 TSC).  The Bobcats opened the game on a 19-3 run and never trailed in the contest.

It didn't take the Bobcats long before they came out and scored, the crowd was electric as the first four minutes of the game kicked off with a 14-to-0 run. Keiser could not handle the hot start as the Bobcats continued to roll.

With 7:43 left in the first, KU brought the Bobcat lead to eight points, something that could not last long. The half ended in favor of STU with the score line reading 47-30.

Within this half, Timothy Sada went 5-for-6 from the land of the three-pointer and Kristers Zeidaks shot a perfect 5-for-5 from the field, earning him his 10 first half points.

A fierce second half start from the Bobcats gave them a lead that would not stop growing. To start the second half STU had a 15-point lead and would reach a game-high 24 points at one point in the second half.

The hottest story of the night was Sada. He ended the game with a career-high 26 points and went 8-for-11 from beyond the arc, tying the school record for most three-pointers scored in a game, a great accomplishment in which only senior Michael Walker II has achieved in his career here at St. Thomas.

Three of the five graduating seniors played tonight and all three had a big hand in the final win of the season. Armand Shoon finished his final regular season game with seven points and four steals. Mikon Hewitt closed out the night with a game-high eight assists and added 11 points. And Zeidaks had an explosive night as he finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and two blocks.

Next up is The Sun Conference Championship tournament which begins Thursday, February 23. Stay tuned to stubobcats.com for details.
