BABSON PARK, Fla. - No. 18 St. Thomas (11-5, 5-1 TSC) took care of business on the road ti defeat conference foe Webber International (5-7, 2-4 TSC) on Thursday night to earn its fifth win in six Sun Conference contests.
Timothy Sada led the Bobcats with 20 points, hitting on 5-of-10 three-point attempts including three key makes from beyond the arc in the second half to propel STU to the conference win.Â
Raheem Bowman led all players on the glass with 14 rebounds to go along with 13 points for his sixth double-double of the season.Â
Khalil Williams came a rebound shy of a double-double of his own with a 12-point, nine rebound performance.Â
Fotios Malelis also scored in double figures with 12 points.
Mikon Hewitt led all players with eight assists to go along with ten points.Â
Mikhail Rolle added nine points to the winning cause.
As a team, the Bobcats continued their efficient play offensively, shooting 52% from the field. STU controlled the game throughout, opening the game with 5-of-8 shooting from the field for an early 13-8 lead. After taking a 42-36 lead into halftime and shooting 55% in the opening half, WIU came back to cut into the Bobcats' lead. However, Sada exploded in the second half, hitting three bombs from downtown late to stretch the lead to as amany as 12 points and ultimately put away the victory.
St. Thomas returns to action with a Sun Conference home affair vs. Warner on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Fernandez Family Center.
