BOBCATS LOSE IN TSC ACTION AGAINST GYRENES

Ave Maria, Fla. (January 12th, 2019) – St. Thomas University's Men's Basketball team (6-10, 5-4 TSC) lost in Sun Conference play against the Ave Maria University Gyrenes (12-7, 5-4 TSC) 87-76 on Saturday afternoon from the Tim Golisano Fieldhouse.

Game Notes
  • St. Thomas opened the game on a 5-0 run, as Nick Strawter and Daejour Adderley each made buckets for STU.
  • The Bobcats were trailing 13-9 with 12 minutes remaining after the media timeout and needed to cut the deficit.
  • STU tied the game with under seven minutes left in the first half, as Strawter added another three-pointer to make the score 21-21.
  • Ave Maria finished the half on a 16-9 run to head into the halftime break leading 37-30.
  • Adderley made the final bucket of the first half, as he made one of his two three-pointers.
  • Justin Brown brought the Gyrene lead down to just four points, as the junior opened the second half with a three-point bucket of his own.
  • STU could not reduce the AMU lead to less than five for the remainder of the second half, as the Bobcats fell against the Gyrenes 87-76.
