LAKELAND, Fla. (November 16, 2019) - St. Thomas University (1-1, 0-1 TSC) lost the Sun Conference opener to Southeastern University (2-1, 1-0 TSC) 85-75 on Saturday evening from "the Furnance".

- Brown opened the scoring, recording a lay-up and giving STU an early 2-0 lead.
- Nick Strawter added a three-pointer, giving the Bobcats an 11-10 lead, six minutes into the game.
- Joe made a three-point bucket of his own, stopping a quick, 7-0 run by the Fire and cut the deficit to 18-14.
- St. Thomas could not cut the Southeastern lead to less than eight, for the remainder of the first half, heading into the break trailing, 40-31.
- The Sun Conference rivals traded three-pointers, opening the second half, to put the score at 46-37.
- Back-to-back threes from Gilbert and Malelis cut the deficit to just four points, 52-48.
- Gilbert added two more points, converting a lay-up, putting the Bobcats within three-points (55-52) at the 10-minute mark
- Southeastern rallied for a 12-3 run, extending the lead to 67-55, with eight minutes remaining.
- The Bobcats failed to get within eight points, for the remainder of the game, and lost their Sun Conference opener, 85-75.
