GOBBLE GOBBLE, FLOYD'S DOUBLE-DOUBLE LEADS STU TO THANKSGIVING WIN

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 27, 2019) - St. Thomas University Men's Basketball (3-2) served up a pre-thanksgiving defeat to Voorhees College (5-5) on Wednesday afternoon from the Fernandez Family Center. The Bobcats won 77-61.

Game Notes
  • Joe knocked down a three-pointer, extending the Bobcats lead to 7-2.
  • Within six minutes, a 7-2 run by the Tigers, tied the game at 9-9.
  • Gilbert capped off a 7-0 with a three-pointer, giving the Bobcats a 16-9 advantage.
  • VC took a 25-24 lead, with less than five minutes remaining. Floyd recorded a lay-up to reclaim the Bobcats lead.
  • The Bobcats went into the halftime break, leading 32-30.
  • Back-to-back baskets from Gilbert extended the STU advantage to 36-30.
  • A put-back dunk by Floyd pushed the St. Thomas lead to 54-48 with less than six minutes remaining.
  • The Bobcats capitalized on double technical fouls by the Tigers bench, as Justin Brown made four consecutive free throws, pushing the STU lead to 61-52.
  • Following the free throws, Brown added a three-point bucket, extending a 11-0 run for STU, as the Bobcats extended the lead to 68-52.
  • Adderley recorded a lay-up, which gave St. Thomas the largest lead of the game at 72-55.
    • The guard closed the game with the final seven points, including a three-pointer, sealing the 77-61 win.
