BOBCATS SEASON ENDS IN TSC QUARTERFINALS

AVE MARIA, Fla. (February 19th, 2019) – The St. Thomas University Men's Basketball season (11-16, 10-8 TSC) has concluded following a loss in the Sun Conference Quarterfinals as the team lost 80-69 to Ave Maria University on Tuesday evening.

Game Notes
  • After trailing by three points in the early part of the game, Adderley made a three-point bucket to bring the game to even.
  • Following the under-15 media timeout, AMU extended their lead to 12-5 over the Bobcats.
  • A three-point bucket from Adam McNeill cut the Gyrene lead to 14-10 with eleven minutes remaining in the first half.
  • At the halftime break, STU trailed AMU, 39-29.
  • The Bobcats were trailing by as many as 23 points, midway through the second half, before the offense cut the deficit to eight points, as Kheron Millwood converted an "and-one" to bring the score to 62-54.
  • STU could not capitalize and found themselves down 70-56, under a minute later.
  • Four consecutive points by Malelis brought the deficit to just six, but the Bobcats comeback attempt fell short, as the season concluded with a 80-69 loss at the hands of the Gyrenes.
St. Thomas University Athletics extends congratulations to the three Men's Basketball seniors: Philip Saunders, Adam McNeill, and Anthony Cadogan on their basketball careers.
The loss eliminated the Bobcats from postseason play and the team will resume play in the 2019-2020 season.
