LAKELAND, Fla. (February 28, 2020) - (RV) St. Thomas University (22-5) advanced to the Sun Conference Tournament Championship, defeating No. 21 Keiser University (22-7) 84-77 on Friday night from "the Furnace" on the campus of Southeastern University.
The Sun Conference Semifinal upset win is the Bobcats fifth over an NAIA DII ranked opponent this season and the second against Keiser in three games; No. 21 Warner, No. 11 Ave Maria, No. Southeastern, No. 17/21 Keiser.

Game Notes
- Brown and Jones combined to score the first eight points of the game for STU, giving STU an 8-6 lead in the opening minutes.
- Brown notched his second three-pointer of the first half moments later, putting the Bobcats in front, 13-10.
- After Keiser took a 16-14 advantage, Gilbert scored six consecutive points, putting St. Thomas in front 20-16.
- Sun Conference Player of the Year, Mark Gordon, sank a three-pointer and cut the Bobcat lead to 28-25 with 6:15 left in the first half.
- Keiser later cut the STU led to two, 38-36, but Brown closed the half by scoring five consecutive points, sending the game into the half with the Bobcats leading 43-38.
- Gilbert scored 6-of-8 points to open the second half, as STU maintained a 51-46 lead.
- Adderley sank a three-pointer to give St. Thomas a ten-point advantage, 56-46.
- Midway through the second half, Gilbert netted a three-pointer and gave the Bobcats their most significant advantage, 67-51.
- Floyd slammed a dunk, preserving the STU lead, 75-61.
- With less than a minute remaining, KU brought the Bobcat lead to just four, 81-77, as STU clung to the slim lead.
- Gilbert clinched the Sun Conference-final berth for the Bobcats, netting two free throws and sent STU to the finals with an 84-77 win.
