All Around Effort Leads Bobcats to Big Win Over Royals at Home

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 19, 2022)- The St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Basketball team beat the Warner Royals in convincing fashion. The Bobcats had five double digit scorers, highlighted by Joshua Thrower with his first career double-double, along with thrower Milton Matthews and Fred Mulbah led the Bobcats once again.

In a tight first half, James Harris III got the ball rolling for STU with a three pointer from deep. D'andre Johnson always seems to be all over the floor, getting it done at both ends. Johnson carried the early momentum for the Bobcats with a dunk and a couple of plays later making a three. The other big man Joshua Thrower checked in and immediately scored twice. Once with a jumper in the paint, and the other at the line.

Warner kept this game close in the first half taking a one-point lead. Justyn Rogers tied it up at 19 with a tough fast break lay in. The Royals took a two point, but Dalon Dean put his name on the box score with a three. Milton Matthews and Fred Mulbah tallied the next couple of points combined off some layups and jumpers in the paint. James Harris III scored the final points of the half for STU, and the Bobcats took a one-point lead into the half.

Fred Mulbah got the second half started with a lay in surrounded by Royals. The Bobcats would really start running away with it, going up eight thanks to Fred Mulbah, James Harris III, and Joshua Thrower. A little while later, James Harris III drilled a three to give STU a 12-point lead. The next points, Ahman Ellington set up Fred Mulbah for a highlight reel alley oop slam.

Jordan Hernandez made his way to the line giving the Bobcats an 18-point lead, taking the Royals out of the game. Ahman Ellington and Milton Matthew made their way to the line both hitting both of them. Milton Matthews drilled a three for the final points of the game, and the Bobcats won by a score of 79-63.
