Thrower Leads Bobcats to Victory Over Stillman College

MONTGOMERY, AL (December 30, 2022)- The St. Thomas University (STU) Men's basketball team got back in the win column beating Stillman College 79-75. Freshman Joshua Thrower had a career high 32-points. The Bobcats improve to 13-3 on the season.

STU started the game going down 4-0. James Harris sent the Bobcats off and running with a three. Dalon Dean immediately hit another one from behind the arch to gain the advantage early. Joshua Thrower got his day started with a jumper inside the paint, followed by a three of his own.

The Bobcats scored four unanswered baskets, three of them scored by Joshua Thrower. D'andre Johnson checked in and hit one from deep. After some time, James Harris III drilled another three, and Justyn Rogers worked his way to the line right after making both. At the half, STU led Stillman 37-22.

Jordan Hernandez got the second half started making a jumper just outside the paint. Joshua Thrower started his second half scoring spree with a jumper right after Hernandez's basket. With some time going by, Dalon Dean gave the Bobcats more separation with a three.

A couple of minutes went by with silence from both sides, then Joshua Thrower broke the silence by working his way to the line. Jordan Hernandez gave STU a 13-point lead, hitting another from behind the arch.

Stillman never gave up and worked their way back to within 4-points. Joshua Thrower got to the line again to make a free throw. Kyle Feldman checked in and scored back to back jumpers to make it an 8-point game. Non-other than Joshua Thrower made it a double digit lead once again hitting a jumper in the paint. The game would be won by a couple Bobcats getting to the line, final score 79-75.
