Despite Late Push Bobcats Fall to #16 Morningside

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (December 20, 2023) – The St. Thomas University Men's Basketball team was defeated by the #16 Morningside Mustangs in a hard-fought battle. The Bobcats came back late but were unable to pull out the upset.
 
The game started with both teams displaying strong defensive efforts, with turnovers and missed shots defining the early minutes. St. Thomas' Josh Taylor, contributed to the scoreboard with impressive plays in the paint, including a powerful dunk by Taylor.
 
As the game progressed, Morningside's Joey Skoff, made significant contributions, keeping the score close. Dotzler's three-pointer and the Mustangs' solid defense helped them take a lead, but the Bobcats responded with a series of layups and three-pointers of their own.
 
The first half saw intense back-and-forth action, with both teams making strategic substitutions and timeouts to gain an edge. Morningside maintained a slim five-point lead into the locker room.

The game ended with the Bobcats unable to get some stops on defense without fouling and #16 Morningside bested them 87-82.
