Miami Gardens, Fla. – Highlighted by a pair of Senior Days, the St. Thomas Bobcats have four home events this weekend starting with the 10th-ranked Volleyball Team hosting Florida National on Friday, Nov. 1 with fans encouraged to come dressed up to the 4 p.m. contest as the best costume will win a prize. The top-ranked Men's Swimming & Diving and second-ranked Women's Swimming & Diving teams welcome Ave Maria and the Florida Keys for a tri-match on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. before the fourth-ranked Men's Soccer team takes on Ave Maria at 5 p.m. followed by Women's Soccer taking on SCAD-Savannah at 7 p.m.

The Volleyball Team (24-0) kicks off the weekend with a non-conference contest following their 10th-consecutive 3-0 sweep, most recently besting Florida Memorial on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Bobcats boast one of the top offenses in the country, averaging 13.89 kills which ranks eighth on a .260 hitting percentage that also places eighth while adding 14.57 digs, 1.85 blocks and 1.78 service aces.

Payton Bertke orchestrates STU's high-octane offense behind 10.89 assists, fifth-best rate in the NAIA, sending the ball to Tayla Barnes (2.47 kills per set), Hope-Leavy Gaskins (2.41 per set), Maria Eduarda Ferreira Ramos (2.41 per set), Carolina Cruz (2.40 per set) Sana Dennis (2.34 per set) and Alexandra Bruno (2.34 per set) who all average over two kills per set. Barnes adds 0.88 blocks and Bruno chips in 0.48 service aces while Bianca Grassi boasts 5.60 digs.

Florida National (18-2) treks to Miami Gardens riding a nine-match winning streak, most recently outlasting Webber International 3-1 on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The Conquistadors boast the second-highest service ace per set rate at 2.89 on top of 11.5 kills on a .192 clip with 17.9 digs and 1.4 blocks.

The Bobcats host their first meet of the season after opening their 2024-25 campaign against some of the top local National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) programs at the TYR Fall Classic and the reigning National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Champions in Indian River.

St. Thomas (11-2-1) concludes the 2024 regular season after dropping a 1-0 decision at SCAD-Savannah on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Bobcats have surrendered six goals this fall, tied for the lowest in the NAIA, for a 0.43 goals allowed average which ranks second while averaging 2.07 goals on a .132 shot percentage. Guido Cacciabue leads STU behind seven goals and four assists, both team-highs, for 18 points which ranks third in the Sun Conference. Rodrigo de la Terga sports a .889 save percentage and 0.466 goals allowed average which both sit atop the Sun Conference and rank second and third nationally, with seven victories coming in shutout fashion.

Ave Maria (2-10-3) heads to St. Thomas following a 0-0 draw against Webber on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Gyrenes average 0.93 goals while allowing 1.67 scores.

The Bobcats (7-2-5, 4-2-1 Sun Conference) host the nationally-ranked Bees after winning 2-0 at Ave Maria on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Thomas averages 1.71 goals while holding their opponents to a Conference-best 0.57 goals. Gabi Cimino paces STU's attack behind 11 goals, the fourth-most in the conference, along with four assists for 26 points which places fifth in the conference while Megan Velazquez tallies six assists that ties for the fifth-most. On the defensive side, Isabella Penaranda leads the league with a .867 save percentage and 0.577 goals allowed average while her eight shutouts ties for the most in the league.

Ranked 14th nationally, SCAD (12-1-2, 6-0-1 Sun Conference) makes the trip to AutoNation Field following a 2-0 victory at Florida Memorial on Thursday, Oct. 31. The Bees average 4.36 goals, eighth-best rate in the NAIA, while holding opponents to 0.73 scores.
