MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA (DECEMBER 16, 2024) - The St.Thomas University men's basketball fell to #22 Indiana Wesleyan on Monday afternoon.
The team from Marion, Indiana came out hot, running a fast tempo offense which mainly involved looks from inside the paint early on and transitioned to looks from beyond the arc from Griffin Kliewer, who had the hot hand, along with Caedmon Bontrager, with 16 first half points.
The second half saw the Bobcats pick up their offense, with junior Esteban Lluberes posting 12 points along with senior Sean Shore posting a team high of 14 points.
Unfortunately, the Bobcats struggled with rebounds and second chance points, with the Wildcats getting 17 offensive rebounds and 25 defensive rebounds. Although St. Thomas got some good looks in the second half, they were beat on the boards which ultimately hurt them down the stretch.
This allowed the Wildcats to expand on their lead, and saw hot hand Caedmon Bontrager finish with 26 points, their leading scorer.
The Bobcats will look to rebound on the road, as they take a trip up to Rochester Hills, Michigan to face Rochester Christian University on Friday, December 20th.
Tip off is set for 1PM.
