SARASOTA, FL (FEBRUARY 22, 2025) . – Behind a dominant double-double from Daniel Ogoro, the St. Thomas University Bobcats secured a thrilling 82-79 victory over the New College of Florida Mighty Banyans on Saturday night.
Ogoro was unstoppable, leading all scorers with 32 points while grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out six assists. His efficiency (11-of-17 from the field, 8-of-9 from the free-throw line) proved instrumental in guiding the Bobcats ) to victory. Dalon Dean also shined, knocking down seven three-pointers en route to a 32 -point performance.
The Bobcats shot an impressive 57.4% from the field and 46.2% from beyond the arc, giving them the offensive firepower needed to hold off a strong effort from New College's Jordan Clark, who finished with 23 points and seven rebounds.
Additionally, Dalon Dean provided a huge boost from beyond the arc, knocking down seven three pointers, leading to 27 points, helping the Bobcats maintain control throughout the game.
The game remained close throughout, with both teams trading leads in the second half. St. Thomas held a slight edge on the boards (30-21) and used solid ball movement to rack up 18 assists. A late three-pointer from Jacob Sterck (nine points off the bench) and clutch free throws by Ogoro in the final minutes helped seal the win.
The Bobcats wrapped up the regular season with the win, and now await their conference tournament opponent.
