Miami Gardens, Fla. - Wrapping up their run of 10 games in 14 days on Friday evening, the St. Thomas University Men's Volleyball team overcame a 2-1 deficit to Webber for a 3-2 (25-23, 24-26, 32-34, 25-13, 15-9) triumph. 

 
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Set 1 – The Bobcats overcame an 14-11 deficit midway through the opening set, taking the lead at 16-15 with neither side holding a lead above two down the stretch until a late 4-0 run forced set point at 24-21.  

• Set 2 – Trailing for most of the second set, Webber fended off a pair of set points during a frame-ending 4-0 rally. 

• Set 3 – STU withstood six set points in a back-and-forth finish to the third set before Webber ended the frame on a 3-0 run. 

• Set 4 – The Bobcats used an early 4-0 run in the fourth set to pull ahead 8-5 and led for the rest of the frame, preventing Webber from scoring consecutive points until back-to-back tallies made it 23-12. 

• Set 5 – After trading the opening 10 points of the fifth set, STU scored four-straight to take a 9-5 edge and kept the lead or the duration of the frame. 

 
NOTEWORTHY: 

• Matheus Collares dished out a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) record 71 assists on top of 11 digs. 

• Gabriel Negrao boasted 26 kills on a .419 hitting percentage 

• Kaelen Ingram matched Negrao with 26 kills. 

• Dennis Morgan chipped in 12 kills on a .733 hitting percentage. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• STU finished the match with 80 kills on a .393 hitting percentage versus 60 kills on a .254 clip for the Warriors. 

• St. Thomas served three aces versus four for Webber. 

• The Bobcats logged five solo blocks and 13 assisted, Webber recorded one solo and 10 assisted. 

• STU held a 46-28 advantage in digs.
