Boca Raton, Fla. - St. Thomas University Bobcats delivered a commanding performance against FAU at their home ground in Boca Raton. With a few changes from their previous victory over UCF, STU took control early in the match, setting the tone for a dominant display.
Gianni Bolognini opened the scoring within the first 10 minutes, and the Bobcats never looked back. Pereyra,
Tshepang Matubatuba (twice), and Spencer Doohan-Wood all crossed the whitewash, giving STU a 29-0 lead after 35 minutes. FAU managed to respond with a try in the corner, but
Daniel Crawford quickly nullified that with a well-worked finish. The halftime score stood at 36-5 in favor of the Bobcats.
The second half saw STU maintain their relentless pressure, outpacing and overpowering a determined FAU side.
Munashe Ndhlela powered through to open the scoring after the break, setting the tone for another dominant period. Captain
Owen Phillips, Matubatuba,
Taonaishe Mapani, and debutant Mzimazisi Mabaso all added their names to the scoresheet, with Phillips grabbing a second to seal an emphatic 70-5 victory.
The Bobcats will now turn their attention to UCF, as they host the final match of the regular season this weekend.
