Miami Gardens, Fla. – St. Thomas University's Vice President of Athletics Bill Rychel announced the promotion of Tyler Thomas to Director of Compliance. Thomas will continue to work with the football program for the 2025 season as their Director of Football Operations and Video Coordinator. 

In his role, Thomas makes sure the Bobcats follow all aspects of the NAIA rules and regulations as well as University and conference requirements. 

"Tyler's rise within our athletic department is no surprise to me," Rychel said. "From his time here as a student-athlete he was a leader and found a way to overcome whatever challenges came his way. I'm confident that he will continue to find success in this new role." 

A Bobcat through and through, Thomas has been with the football program since its inaugural season in 2019, ending his playing career in as the starting quarterback for STU. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Media Studies in 2023 before earning a Master of Science in Sports Administration this past Spring.
