Men's Volleyball Sweeps Webber On Senior Day

Miami Gardens, Fla. – Playing their final home game of the 2026 campaign on Saturday afternoon, the sixth-ranked St. Thomas University Men's Volleyball Team held visiting Webber International University to a negative hitting percentage in two sets of a 3-0 sweep (25-10, 25-20, 25-20).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Bobcats held Webber without a run of consecutive points of the entire opening set, quickly creating a double-digit lead at 15-5.
  • After splitting the opening 14 points of the second set, the Bobcats scored back-to-back points and kept the lead for the rest of the frame
  • Holding a 19-13 lead late in the third stanza, STU withstood a comeback effort by the visitors that cut the separation in half with a 5-0 run that gave St. Thomas match point.
 
NOTEWORTHY:
  • Dennis Morgan paced the offense with nine kills on a .667 hitting percentage while adding four assisted blocks.
  • Kalen Ingram served four aces on top of four assisted blocks and one solo.
  • Erik Malek added three solo blocks and three assisted blocks.
  • Timothy Reyes dished out 29 assists.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • The Bobcats ended the match with 35 kills on a .373 hitting percentage; Webber tallied 18 on a -.077 clip.
  • STU served 13 aces while the Warriors logged two.
  • St. Thomas recorded six solo block and 14 assisted versus four  assisted for the visitors.
  • STU held a 23-18 advantage in digs.
