MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - St. Thomas University's Director of Bowling Operations and Head Coach Jim Porter announced the addition of Catherine "Catie" Taylor to the women's program on Friday. With her leadership, academic excellence, and competitive drive, Taylor is poised to make an immediate impact on and off the lanes for the Bobcats.

"We are very excited to have Catie join our women's team," Michalenko said. "She will be a strong asset to the program and a team leader. I believe her positive attitude and commitment to the sport will be very motivating as we look towards the next season,"

A native of St. Petersburg, Fla., Taylor has been one of the top bowlers in the region with an average of 180 during her senior year at St. Petersburg Catholic High School. She finished first in her district last year and cracked the top 25 at the Florida State High School Championship. A three-time team MVP with a high game of 268, Taylor also excels in the classroom with academic accolades.

"Catie is a talented competitor who brings both skill and a strong work ethic to our team," Porter said. "Her success in high school shows us the potential she has to make an immediate impact."

Taylor will join the women's bowling team this fall as she pursues her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
