BIOGRAPHY
Luca Alessandrini enters his second year on staff and first as an assistant swim coach for the Swimming & Diving program at St. Thomas University in 2026-27. In his first year as a graduate assistant, he helped lead a Sun Conference sweep of the Men's 500-yard freestyle and National Title in the Men's 1650-yard freestyle.
YEAR 1 (25-26) "RELENTLESS"
In Alessandrini's first season as a graduate assistant coach, he led the distance group to record breaking results, helping guide the program to a top-5 finish on both sides for the campaign. He also led the academic support program for the year, finishing with 20 NAIA Daktronic Scholar Athletes - the most in the NAIA for swimming & diving.
Before St. Thomas
Luca comes to Miami Gardens after leading one of the most successful student-athlete careers at Nova Southeastern University. He finished his career with 18x NCAA All-American honors, including 13x NCAA Division II First Team All-American selections with 8 Sunshine State Conference titles. He was named the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Meet and NSU Rookie of the Year. He was a nominee for the NCAA Impact Award, recognizing student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in athletics while making a positive impact academically and in their communities. He also assisted with NSU University School with the middle and high school programs as a coach during their 2024 season.
Before arriving to the United States, Alessandrini was a member of the Italian Junior National Team and was an 8x Junior Italian Champion.
