Danny Ranz joins the St. Thomas Men’s Basketball coaching staff this season. While at WCU, Ranz served as a student manager for the Men’s Basketball Team under coach Mark Prosser, son of legendary college basketball coach Skip Prosser. During Prosser’s first year at WCU, Ranz got to experience a culture change and help usher in a new era of WCU basketball. Danny’s experience coaching comes from coaching high school basketball at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, TJCA, located outside of Charlotte.
Ranz served as the Assistant Boy’s Varsity Coach and helped change the culture of TJCA’s basketball program, going from a 4-20 record to a 17-8 record, the best in school history. Ranz also served as the Head 17U Boy’s Coach for Next Level Prospects Basketball (NLPB) located in Asheville, NC.
Originally from Long Island, NY, Ranz resides in Weaverville, NC where he graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor’s in Sport Management. Ranz is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Sport Administration.
