Steven Everson – Coaching Bio

Coach Everson a highly successful football coach with a proven track record of developing top-tier talent and leading his teams to significant victories. A former standout defensive back at Thomas More University, Everson has transitioned seamlessly into coaching, where he has established himself as an exceptional leader and strategist.

 

Coaching Achievements:

  • 2020: Under Everson’s leadership, St. Thomas More University saw standout performances, including 1st Team All-Conference selection Sidney Porter and 2nd Team All-Conference selection Jhaqwori Austin. Porter also earned AFCA Honorable Mention recognition.
  • 2021: Everson’s defensive back dominated, with 1st Team All-Conference selections for both Sidney Porter and Jhaqwori Austin. Porter’s efforts also earned him AFCA All-American honors. The defense was ranked among the Top 5 in the nation.
  • 2022: Everson coached a historic defense, highlighted by Sidney Porter as Defensive Back of the Year. Coach Everson also had Jhaqwori Austin and Sidney Porter, earned 1st Team All-Conference honors. Porter also received both AP All-American and AFCA All-American 2nd Team distinctions. Additionally, his defensive back Rashard Farmer was named NAIA Player of the Week after recording 3 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries.
  • 2023: The program continued to shine with 1st Team All-Conference selections for Armond Anderson and Jhaqwori Austin.
  • 2024: Caleb Walker earned a 1st Team All-Conference selection under Everson’s guidance and was named 2nd Team AP All-American.

 

Coaching Record: Everson has guided his teams to an outstanding overall record of 44-19, including an impressive 36-10 over the past four years. His ability to develop defensive talent and create a winning culture has made him one of the top coaches in the region.
