Michael Mominey is a proven fundraising leader and transformational executive with over 25 years of success in collegiate athletics and advancement. As Associate Vice President for Advancement at Nova Southeastern University (FL), he helped lead the university’s $1 billion capital campaign, securing over $25 million in philanthropic and corporate gifts for athletics—including $10 million for student-athlete scholarship endowments.
A former Director of Athletics at NSU, Mominey built a nationally recognized NCAA Division II program that won 13 national championships in seven different sports, while the student-athletes maintained a 3.41 GPA across all sports during his tenure. He brings a unique blend of strategic vision, donor stewardship, and championship culture-building to every initiative. Widely respected as a servant and transformational leader, Mominey is deeply committed to student success and to creating impact through philanthropy. His work continues to engage alumni, trustees, and community leaders in meaningful partnerships that drive institutional excellence.
Mominey’s influence extends beyond the university. He is an active community leader, serving on the Corporate Board of the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County (2020–present), as an Honorary Board Member of the Special Olympics of Broward County (2018–present), and as a long-time member of the Orange Bowl Committee (2007–2024). He also served on the NACDA Executive Board for the Division II Athletic Directors Association (2019–2024) and was recognized as NACDA’s NCAA Division II Athletic Director of the year in 2024.
Michael Mominey holds a Master of Science in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University (’93) and a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Bowling Green State University (’90). A resident of Davie Florida and native of Euclid Ohio, Mominey is the proud husband of Denise (Kacsik) Mominey and father to Tyler and Alexa.
