10/19/2008 6:20:51 PM

Miami Lakes, Fla. – STU Volleyball (8-12, conf. 5-4) dropped a four game match to the Embry Riddle Eagles (21-1, conf. 11-1) by scores of 25-9, 25-23, 20-25, 25-15. The first set saw the Bobcats unable to side-out consistently as one single server went one to serve as much as ten consecutive times. The second set was a back-and-forth battle, with either team making a run and the other team would come back with a few points of their own. With ERAU leading 24-21 the Bobcats climbed back to within one point off of key kills by Adriana Montilla and Nicole Molander-Barraza but the Eagles solidified the second set win on a kill by their outside. The Bobcats out-hit the Eagles in the third set as they came up with the set win. STU completed 14 of their 35 attempts, and held the Eagles to a .158 hitting percentage. STU was unable to repeat the effort as they were inconsistent siding out. ERAU took the fourth set and earned the match. Adriana Montilla led the bobcats offensively once again with 11 kills. Nicole Molander-Barraza and Karla Vargas had big contributions as well with double digits kills, 11 and 10 respectively. Fernanda Neves led the team with 30 assists and kept rallies going as she recorded 12 digs. Julianne rivera recorded a season low 15 digs. Kelsey Dunning contributed 6 digs to the team total 42. Bobcat Volleyball will step on the court again on Wednesday, October 22nd at West Palm Beach vs. Northwood. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
