Daytona Beach, FLThe Bobcat men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 0-0 double-overtime tie against no. 6 ranked Embry-Riddle, providing a turning point to their 2008 season.  After winning their first three matches of the year, STU had fallen on hard time losing 5 straight, until this tie against the Sun Conference leaders.

Aaron Jones and the defense played stellar all game, allowing no goals in the 110 minutes of action.  Jones faced 17 shots and recorded 5 saves, and was assisted by his defense for one team stop.  On the other side, Embry-Riddle goalkeeper Viktor Bergstrand was equally impressive with 5 saves on 15 Bobcat shots.

The game was close in all aspects, with STU attempting 15 shots, directing 5 toward goal, and attempting 7 corner kicks, while ERAU compiled 17 shots, with 6 on goal, and 6 corners.  The game was very physical as well, with 29 total fouls and 7 yellow cards, four of which were awarded to St. Thomas.

While there were no goals scored, the Bobcats offense was greatly impacted from Sunday Ogundasi's collegiate debut performance.  Ogundasi had a third of STU's shot attempts (5), including two shots on goal.  Thiago Rocha again contributed on the offensive end, matching Ogundasi with 5 shots.

The Bobcats now stand at 2-3-1 in the Sun Conference, a half game behind the Savannah College of Art and Design for fourth place in the standings.  The next game for the 'Cats is at home next Tuesday, October 7th against Webber International at 7:00 pm.
