Miami Lakes, Fla. – STU Volleyball (10-16, conf. 6-5) found success again this season by completing a sweep over conference opponent Florida Memorial University (6-23, conf. 2-10) Bobcats were led offensively by the reigning Sun Conference Player of the Week
Adriana Montilla with a team high 19 kills as well as the freshman tandem Nicole Molander- Barraza and
Lauren Wilson who recorded 9 kills each during the match.
Karla Vargas and
Haleema Linares added 5 and 3 kills respectively. The Bobcats had a total 48 kills while only committing 7 errors.
Fernanda Neves led the team to a .402 hitting percentage as she assisted 32 times and served 2 times for an Ace. Sr. Libero
Julianne Rivera recorded 4 aces and 12 digs on Senior night. At this point the Bobcats have already surpassed the win total from last year's campaign and have earned the fourth place in the Sun conference with a .545 Winning percentage thereby giving them a Conference playoff berth this season.
STU Volleyball will conclude conference play this weekend, friday Oct. 31 at Lake Wales vs Warner Southern University @ 7 p.m. and Saturday Nov 1. at Bobson Park vs Webber International Univeristy.in a double header @ 11a.m. and 1 p.m.
