SAVANNAH, Ga. - The St Thomas University Volleyball Team obtained 1 win and 3 losses in the SCAD invitational tournament. During day 1 the Bobcats played Union University (Tenn.) and found defeat as Union took the match 3-1 with scores of (18-25,26-24, 18-25,14-25). The second match of the day featured Columbia (Mo.) where the Bobcats would come out unsuccessful as Columbia took the match 3-0 by scores of (19-25,19-25,19-25). STU found victory during day 2 of the SCAD invitational tournament when playing vs Spring Hill who they beat in 4 sets with scores of (23-25,25-13,25-18,25-13). St. Thomas concluded the tournament with a conference foe vs SCAD where the Bobcats presented a strong effort but were short when it came to finding the win, SCAD took the match in 3 sets by scores of (26-28,22-25,22-25).
Adriana Montilla (Jr. OH) recorded a tournament high 58 kills to go along with 42 digs 7 aces and 3 blocks during tournament play. Also
Nicole Molander-Barraza (Fr, MH) continues to grow during her freshman season as she recorded 46 kills 7 blocks and
Fernanda Neves (Jr, S) led the tempo of the offense as she recorded 130 assists 22 digs 5 kills and 4 aces. Bobcats are now 9-15 overall and 5-5 in The Sun Conference play. STU volleyball gets back to action on Tuesday Oct. 28 as they host conference opponent Florida Memorial University @ Barbara Goleman High School at 7 p.m.
