Miami Gardens, Fla - The St. Thomas University Bobcats men's soccer (3-0, 2-0 in Sun Conference) continued their three game winning streak and perfect season defeating the Calumet College of St. Joe's Crimson Tide 6-0. Alexander Villada put on quite a show for the Bobcats as he severed up two assists to teammates and place a nice ball in the back of the net from about 20 meters away.

The Bobcats began the game fast and with a purpose almost connecting on a goal during the ninth minute of the game when Jaisen Labrada took a free kick that lead was placed in front of a crowd that Javier Tavares was able to chase down and nearly head in.

The beginning of the game produced several similar near misses for the Bobcats until Luis Campo squared up against Crimson Tide(2-3) goalkeeper Pete Saims and scored a goal on a penalty kick during the 37th minute.

Though the initial goal took a little over 36 minutes the next would only need a little less than seven minutes. The goal was scored by Thiago Rocha on a header set up by a pass from Villada. The goal would give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead, which they would maintain at the end of the first period.

To start the second period the Crimson Waves were a bit more aggressive but they were unable to get the ball past Bobcat goalkeeper Aaron Jones. The highlight of his day came on save he snagged from out of the air using all six feet and one inch of his frame to grab the ball before a Crimson Wave player could make a play.

The Bobcats would score four more goals by the end of the game highlighted by a break away goal by Dale Arendse. His goal came after he squared up with goalkeeper Saims, gave him a jab step to the left to take him off balance and then kicked the ball into the upper right hand corner of the goal. The Bobcats will play their next game September 8 at Northwood, at 3 PM.
