VALDOSTA, GA.- The Bobcat basketball team traveled to the Valdosta Classic Friday to face host Valdosta State.  STU was scheduled to play Georgia Southwestern on Saturday, but the game was cancelled because the opposing team did not show.  STU struggled against Valdosta State and fell 68-101.
The Bobcats shot 40% in the first half on 12-30 shooting but could not get production off the bench.  STU's bench scored just five points. 
Antonio Jones dropped 15 points in the first half with nine coming from the free-throw line.  13 first half turnovers did not help the Bobcats as they went in down 36-45 at the break.  
Valdosta added to their lead in the second half, outscoring STU 32-56.  The Bobcats could not defend the three in the second period allowing Valdosta to hit 10 on 11 attempts.   STU's bench scored 12 points in the game while giving up 35 to Valdosta's,  and the Bobcat's assist-to-turnover ratio ended at 2:23.
Antonio Jones suffered through foul trouble and finished the game with 17 points, as did 
Tracy Razz.  
Patrick Louissaint added 16 and grabbed six rebounds.  The Bobcats (1-1) will go to the University of Tampa Wednesday for a 7 PM game.
