BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Lady Bobcats faced Lynn Saturday for their third game of the young season. The ladies never took the lead and fell 57-68.
Despite proficient three-point shooting from the Bobcats, Lynn was able to take a nine-point lead into the half. Lynn hit 50% of their shots in the first half and edged the Bobcats in rebounds, 20-14.
Carissa Staiano led STU at the break with nine points on 3-4 three-point shooting.
Lynn came out hot in the second half and built their lead up to 20 with just 10 minutes left in the game. From that point the Bobcats rallied and chipped away at the lead, eventually getting it down to 10. Poor shooting proved to be the death knell for the Bobcats as they only hit 30% from the floor for the game while Lynn shot 46%. STU also surrendered the rebound battle 35-46.
Four Bobcats scored in double figures, including
Carissa Staiano (17), Alexandria Vanterpool (11),
Amanda Fernandez (10), and
Cindy Castrillon (10). STU will face Barry in Miami Lakes Tuesday at 7 PM.
