MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- The Lady Bobcats dominated top-to-bottom against an inundated Lady Fire basketball team Monday night. Alexandria Vanterpool led the Bobcats with 22 points and 8 rebounds, as STU easily overcame SEU, 81-38.
The Fire proved to be outmatched early finding themselves down 15 points after only five minutes. STU never let up and took a 32-point advantage into the locker room, 46-14. Vanterpool tallied 15 of her 22 points in the first period on a near-perfect 6-of-7 from the floor.
Not much changed in the second half, other than reduced defensive pressure from the Bobcats that was effective at forcing 27 turnovers in the first period. STU owned every aspect of the stat sheet and sent the Fire packing by a final score of 81-38. The Ladies move to 8-6 for the season, and 3-1 in the Sun Conference. The Fire fall to 4-13.
