WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Bobcats traveled to #14 Northwood Wednesday night in search of their fourth Sun Conference win. STU came up short, falling to the Seahawks 72-78.
Northwood controlled the majority of the first half, only surrendering the lead for a matter of seconds. The Seahawks held a 9-point lead with one minute remaining in the first half when Antonio Jones hit a 3-pointer, grabbed the rebound following a missed Northwood jumper and got fouled driving to the basket. Jones hit both foul shots and knocked Northwood's lead down to 4 heading into the locker room, 30-34.
The Seahawks quickly jumped out to a double-digit lead in the second half, which was too much for the Bobcats to handle. STU cut the lead down to 5 with thirty seconds remaining, but Northwood sealed the deal with made free-throws.
Jones led all scorers with 32, 17-of-20 from the charity stripe, and Tracy Razz supported with 11.
STU falls to 7-11 on the season (3-5 TSC) and will face Ave Maria in the Fernandez Center Saturday at 7 PM.
