DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The St. Thomas Men's Soccer team traveled to No. 20 Embry-Riddle this weekend for a Sun Conference match. The Bobcats beat the Eagles for the first time in as many years and did so by shutting out ERAU, 3-0.
Eran Belo struck first for St. Thomas scoring on a penalty kick in the game's sixth minute. The Bobcats held on to their lead into the half and added to it on an unassisted Jonathon Rico goal just minutes into the second half. Rico knocked in his second goal of the game with ten minutes left to solidify the Bobcats' decision.
Aaron Jones posted the shutout for St. Thomas with one save. STU moves to 5-5-1 on the season and will welcome Webber Int'l to campus Wednesday for a 4 p.m. match.
