MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The St. Thomas Men's Basketball team welcomed Lynn to the Fernandez Center Wednesday for their home opener. The Bobcats did not dissapoint and bounced back from a 5-point halftime deficit and pulled out the 71-70 win.
STU hung tight with the Knights throughout the first half by playing tough defense and cashing in at the charity stripe. Lynn easily could've held a double digit lead at the break, but the Knights only managed 45 percent from the free-throw line.
The Bobcats stepped up their shooting in the second half, 47 percent, and kept the margin close until Lynn started to pull away midway through the period. With just under ten minutes remaining the Knights found themselves with an 8-point advantage. STU rallied and regained the lead at the under five mark.
St. Thomas gave up a huge 3-point play with eleven seconds left. STU's Jeff Remmington found
David Nesbitt under the basket to put the Bobcats up 1 point with one second on the clock. Lynn's final shot came up short and the Bobcats relished in their victory.
Eugen Davis led the Bobcats in scoring with 16, while adding 6 assists. Remmington scored 12 points with 4 assists and 4 steals. Nesbitt scored 10 points on 3-5 shooting with 5 rebounds and 2 steals. A full box score can be seen

STU moves to 2-1 on the season and will face Talladega College at home on Saturday at 7 p.m..
