MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The Bobcat Volleyball team headed to nearby Fla. Memorial Wednesday for a non-conference match against the Lions. STU handled FMU easily, 3-0.
The Bobcats dominated the match, with the only real scare coming in the second game as the Lions tallied 16 points. St. Thomas managed a stronger attack, hitting at a .243 clip with 32 kills compared to 17 kills and a gross .00 attack percentage from Fla. Memorial. Defensively, STU notched 37 digs to just 26 from the Lions.
Strong performances from
Mayara Gomes, Slavica Stefanovich, and
Nicole Molander-Barraza tonight. Gomes tallied 6 kills, 8 assists, and 5 digs. Barraza put up 6 kills and 7 digs for the Bobcats, while Stefanovich had 6 kills and 3 digs.
This win gives St. Thomas their 20th for the season. The Bobcats will finish their regular season at Palm Beach Atlantic on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.
