ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The St. Thomas Men's Soccer team got out to a hot start Saturday with 2 goals in the first half at Eckerd College. The Bobcats stumbled in the second half, however, and surrendered 3 goals to fall to the Tritons.
Douglas Sommer struck first in the game's eleventh minute on a deflection from a free kick. The Tritons failed to clear the ball and Sommer put it in from 20 yards out. Newcomer,
Mike Njie scored the Bobcats' second goal in the final minute of the first half on a breakaway chip of the goalkeeper. STU took a 2-0 lead at the half.
The Bobcats gave up two goals in the first fifteen minutes of the second half off a corner and a breakaway. The game-winning goal came in the 86th minute to lean the decision in Eckerd's favor. Bobcat keeper,
