MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The St. Thomas Men's Soccer team welcomed the Florida Tech Panthers to Bobcat Field Wednesday in what turned out to be a dominating performance by STU.  The Bobcats jumped out to a 3-0 first half lead, and held off the Panthers in the second period to win 3-1.

Pierre Ceraphin struck first for St. Thomas by dribbling around several defenders before finishing the Bobcats' first goal in the twenty-third minute.  STU continued the attack and Guillermo Huaman knocked in the Bobcats' second goal with one touch off a high bounce in the box.  STU's final goal came in the match's thirty-fifth minute as Mike Njie dribbled around the keeper and struck in the right side of the net.

FIT came out with a much more physical attack in the second half, but St. Thomas' defense held strong.  Starting goalkeeper, Aaron Jones held the Panthers scoreless for nearly eighty minutes, but substitute Carlos Uculmana surrendered FIT's only go with just eight minutes to play.

The Bobcats move to 3-3-1 on the season and will face Thomas (Ga.) Sunday at 4 PM at Bobcat Field.
