Women's Soccer improve to 3-3

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -St Thomas University women's soccer team improved to 3-3 as they won their third game of the season on Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Field.

 

STU's only goal came in the 18th minute by freshman midfielder #18 Sara Mira. This goal ultimately propelled the St Thomas University women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Thomas University.

 

STU pushed the attack in for the remaining of the first half, but could not complete another goal. Although the Bobcats controlled the run of play throughout the first half, they were unable to find the back of the net in the second.  Down one, Thomas University increased its attack but the Nighthawks could not find an equalizer.

 

TU's goalie, Heather Collins recorded two saves for the match. The Nighthawks took a total of 7 shots; Taylor Agricola led the way with 2. For the Bobcats, a total of 9 shots were taken, Mira led with 5 and Danielle Smith with 3. Goalkeeper Arianna Lorenzo finished with one save.

STU returns to action October 1st versus Savannah College of Art & Design.
