LAKELAND, Fla. - After dropping their last two games, the St. Thomas Volleyball team went 4-0 at the Sun Conference Mid-Season Tournament.  STU's casualties included Ave Maria, Fla. Memorial, Southeastern, and Webber International.

The Bobcats' first match against Ave Maria showed the team's muscle as they swept the Gyrenes in three straight games.  STU had 41 kills and a .289 attacking percentage.  Defensively, the Bobcats totaled 57 digs and 7 blocks.

STU faced Webber International late Friday and continued their strong performance by surrendering just one game on their way to victory.  The Bobcats did not record as many kills as the Warriors but made fewer errors to tip the decision in their favor. Webber took the first game 25-21, but STU rallied and finished the Warriors off in consecutive games.

Saturday, the STU faced Fla. Memorial and Southeastern.  Both matches were swept by the Bobcats in dominating performances. Against Fla. Memorial, the STU put together a .284 attacking percentage with 44 digs and 9 blocks.  The match against Southeastern proved to be more of the same.  STU beat the Fire in every statistical category while recording fewer errors across the board.

The Bobcats move to 7-2 on the season with a 6-2 conference record.  St. Thomas is now third in the conference and will welcome Ave Maria to the Fernandez Center Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match.
